Feeding babies microplastics isn't the best idea..

One year ago, specifically in July, research was published stating that Microplastics have been detected in human breast milk for the first time. Samples of breast milk were collected from 34 mothers in good health, approximately one week after delivering their babies in Rome, Italy. Microplastics were identified in 75% of these samples. Previous studies have demonstrated the toxic impact of microplastics on human cell lines, laboratory animals, and marine creatures. Plastics commonly harbor detrimental chemicals, including phthalates, which have been previously detected in breast milk.

 

The researchers documented the mothers' intake of food and beverages packaged in plastic, as well as their consumption of seafood and use of personal hygiene products containing plastic. However, they did not observe any connection between these factors and the presence of microplastics. This indicates that the widespread distribution of microplastics in the environment renders human exposure unavoidable, according to the researchers.
